Why it's phrased this way

  • Your landlord (Wohnungsgeber) is legally required to confirm your move-in in writing — the Wohnungsgeberbestätigung. Under §19 Bundesmeldegesetz they must provide it within the registration period, so it is fair to mention this obligation in your request. Source ↗
